Our Mission

We are a national, First Nation-directed environmental non-profit organization with charitable status. We were established in 1994 by a group of First Nation leaders from across Canada. These leaders recognized the need for First Nations to have the capacity to solve environmental problems affecting their lands and resources.

Through our programs, we:

~ take action on climate change, ~ build sustainable communities, ~ protect lands and waters, and ~ conserve biodiversity.

We create and put into action sustainable solutions to address First Nations' environmental issues. We take an integrated approach that includes multiple perspectives and fosters collaborative relationships.
