Pledge to make a difference, together.
Vancouver Island Autistic Homes Society (VIAH) was incorporated as a not-for-profit Society and registered as a charitable organization in 1986. The goal of its founders was that the Society would become a vehicle for the development and implementation of residential and vocational programs for adults with autism.
From 1986 to 1991, VIAH successfully sponsored five federal job developmental projects, including a successful training program for job coaches who work with people who have autism and other complex mental disabilities. In 1990, the Society opened its first residence for adults. Currently, the Society operates four residences and a family support model home, providing living situations for adults with autism and other challenging behaviours/disabilities.We also act as an information resource to parents, people with autism, schools and other agencies.
