The Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum was established in 1963 to preserve, commemorate, and exhibit the history of football in Canada at all levels, including: professional, amateur, and junior football. The museum opened in its current location in 1972 and features artifact collections of consisting of trophies, helmets, playing equipment, game balls, jerseys, jackets, flags, photographs, and films. The collections form a major part of the on-site and off-site exhibitions. Past off-site exhibits have been featured at the Grey Cup Festival in 2009 and 2010, as well as Touchdown Atlantic in 2010.
Each year a Selection Committee of learned football individuals from across the country, elect up to seven individuals for induction into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. Consideration is given in two categories: builders and players.
Induction ceremonies take place once a year and include a formal induction dinner as well as a Hall of Fame football game.
