Our Mission

Ethiopia Check is a fact-checking desk that was initially set up in June 2020, and later registered as a Trust organization in 2022. It is currently operating as a fully independent Trust Organization. The primary mission of the fact-checking desk is to monitor and debunk social media misinformation and disinformation, train journalists with fact-checking skills, help better the information flow ecosystem in Ethiopia and help the spread of accurate information.
